A deciduous, bushy shrub with thorny stems and double layered, frilly fragrant flowers. Also known as the Provence Rose, Rose of May or the Cabbage Rose and is mostly cultivated in Egypt, Morocco and France for its singular fragrance.

Solvent extraction (with alcohol) from the concrete of the petals of Rosa Centifolia.
